Chelsea FC Frustrated by Loan Deal for Axel Disasi

Axel Disasi, the French defender, is set to join Crystal Palace on loan, but Chelsea FC are frustrated by the lack of a permanent deal. The Blues have agreed a loan deal with the Eagles, but it does not include an option to buy.

Disasi will undergo a medical this afternoon ahead of the move, which is expected to be completed if the medical is successful.

What happened?

Chelsea FC have agreed a loan deal with Crystal Palace for Axel Disasi, but the deal does not include an option to buy. The French defender will undergo a medical this afternoon ahead of the move.

Why it matters for Chelsea FC

The lack of a permanent deal for Disasi is frustrating for Chelsea FC, who are struggling to sort out their squad for the new season. The Blues have a big week of transfers ahead of them, and another deal is about to be picked off.

What comes next?

If the medical is successful, the deal will be completed, and Disasi will join Crystal Palace on loan. The Blues will then move on to worrying about other players.

Chelsea have a big week of transfers ahead of them, and another deal is about to be picked off. Top French transfer insider Fabrice Hawkins has just reported that Axel Disasi is on his way to take a Crystal Palace medical after Chelsea agreed a loan deal (with no purchase option) with the Eagles.

If that all goes well, it's a done deal, and the Blues can move on to worrying about other players. Much like the deal that's just been done to take Benoit Badiashile to Napoli, we're happy to have a move completed, but the fact that it's a loan (in this case without even an option) is very frustrating.

We'll be back in the same situation as this summer (and indeed last summer) with both players in 12 months time. Still, a good season on loan will help the former Monaco man find a new club permanently next summer, so we wish him all the best.

In other news...

Mykhailo Mudryk got a loan offer from a Premier League team, but Chelsea have formally rejected it for a very simple reason. Cole Palmer is one player everyone is going to be watching tonight, and Xabi Alonso claims he's going to get the best out of him. Emmanuel Emegha has been linked with a loan away from Chelsea, not something we were expecting given previous reports on the striker's situation.
