Chelsea FC are about to sanction a summer transfer to give them a big boost as FIFA rules explained. Omari Kellyman and his representatives are in talks with Strasbourg over a permanent move to the Ligue 1 club. The 20-year-old playmaker featured under Xabi Alonso during the Blues' pre-season tour.
What happened?
Chelsea are in dialogue with their sister club, Strasbourg, over a deal for Kellyman. The former Aston Villa youngster prefers a European move rather than staying in England. Newly-promoted Cardiff City have been trying to sign Kellyman on loan after he shone in south Wales last season.
Why it matters for Chelsea FC
A permanent move to Strasbourg looks likely, but nothing is thought to be too advanced at the time of writing. We should know more by the end of today (Friday) with Kellyman's representatives locked in talks with both Chelsea and Strasbourg to find a solution.
What comes next?
As per FIFA rules, Chelsea are only allowed to loan one more player to Strasbourg. Filip Jorgensen and Genesis Antwi are both at Stade de la Meinau for the upcoming season, and FIFA rules say only three players can be loaned from one side to a specific club in the same transfer window. There is still a possibility that one of Mykhailo Mudryk or Dastan Satpayev are sent to spend the season with the BlueCo-owned French outfit.
