Chelsea FC's young star Estevao is nearing a return to action after a hamstring injury, with the Blues missing out on European competition next term. Chelsea FC's Estevao has issued an injury update as he eyes a comeback after the World Cup. The winger, who has starred for the Blues this season in his debut campaign in English football, tore his hamstring against Manchester United back in April and has not been able to play since. Estevao revealed that he no longer felt pain in his hamstring and that he believes he is ready to play again. The forward, 19, was overlooked by Carlo Ancelotti for the Selecao’s squad for this summer’s tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Neymar was selected as one of Brazil’s forwards, although the veteran’s participation in his country’s opening matches is in question after he himself suffered a calf injury. Estevao explained that he had an injury where he tore 80 per cent of his hamstring bicep femoris, and that the Chelsea doctors wanted him to have surgery. However, after a second MRI scan, the doctor asked if he was in pain or feeling anything, and Estevao said he was fine and could even play already. The young Brazilian did not play in the FA Cup final, which Chelsea lost to Manchester City, and he also could not help his side qualify for Europe, as the west Londoners missed out entirely on a place in continental competition next term. Estevao was unable to feature for interim head coach Calum McFarlane, who took over after Liam Rosenior was sacked. The young star is now focused on his recovery and is looking forward to returning to action for Chelsea FC. With the World Cup approaching, Estevao is eager to get back to full fitness and help his team in the upcoming season. The Blues will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing season, and Estevao's return will be a welcome boost to the squad.
