Chelsea FC Transfer Update: Neto's Future at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea FC are not actively looking to sell Pedro Neto, despite the recent £117million deal to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. Throughout this summer, no clubs have entered into anything close to serious talks with the Blues over signing Neto.
The Portuguese winger played 46 times in all competitions last term, scoring six goals. He played under Enzo Maresca, Calum McFarlane, and Liam Rosenior last season, but struggled to cement himself as a regular starter amid inconsistent form.
Now, with Rogers' arrival confirmed, the Portuguese could well find himself further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, despite the departure of Alejandro Garnacho on loan to Aston Villa. Jamie Gittens will also rival the former Wolves forward for the left-wing berth, but Neto can also operate off the right flank, as can Brazilian wonderkid Estevao.
Rogers and Cole Palmer are also able to play on the right wing, and it remains to be seen what shape new manager Xabi Alonso will opt to plump for as he prepares for his first plunge into Premier League management.
As Chelsea FC look to build on their 10th-place finish in the final 2025 table, with 52 points from 38 games, they will be keen to see Neto adapt to his new role in the team. The Blues are currently 33 points behind leaders Arsenal in the title race, and will be hoping to see their players step up to the challenge.
In the meantime, Neto will be hoping to prove himself as a key player for Chelsea FC, and will be looking to make the most of his opportunities in the 2026-27 season. With the new season just around the corner, the Portuguese winger will be eager to make a strong impression on the pitch.
League standing (final 2025 table -- new season not yet under way): 10th in Premier League, 52 pts, 14W-10D-14L from 38 games, recent form LWDLL. Goals this season: 58 scored, 52 conceded (+6 goal difference).
