Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with Chelsea, committing his future to the club until at least the summer of 2034. The deal, announced on Saturday, extends his previous agreement by an additional year.
Palmer played a central role in Chelsea's emphatic 5-1 victory over Bournemouth earlier that day. He assisted Jordan Henderson's opening goal in the second minute and was involved in the build-up for the team's second, scored by Morgan Rogers moments later. The win lifted Chelsea to sixth in the Premier League table, where they have 10 points from six matches.
Speaking after the match, Palmer expressed his happiness with the new deal. He said he feels the club is moving in the right direction and praised the shared ambition among the players and staff. The 24-year-old emphasised his desire to win major trophies consistently and to play a significant part in that success.
Palmer has been a vital contributor since joining from Manchester City in 2023, making 91 goal contributions in 138 appearances. He has scored four goals in seven matches this season. His form earned a recall to the England squad, though a persistent groin problem forced him to withdraw from the latest international camp.
The contract provides stability as Chelsea, under manager Xabi Alonso, look to build on their recent form. Palmer is expected to be available for the team's next Premier League fixture away to Everton on 17 October.
