The goal was a significant moment for Thiago, who joined Brentford last summer after scoring 22 league goals in Belgium. His powerful finish past the Chelsea goalkeeper marked his first of the new campaign and demonstrated the threat he carries. Chelsea's defence, which has conceded nine goals this season, struggled to contain him throughout the second half.

Mauricio Pochettino's side created chances but failed to convert them, with the absence of top scorer João Pedro through injury keenly felt. The Brazilian has three goals in four appearances this term. Chelsea's recent form shows two wins, one draw, and two losses from their last five outings. They now sit five points behind league leaders Arsenal.
The manager is expected to address the team's consistency ahead of their next fixture, a home match against Bournemouth on 10 October. With Emmanuel Emegha also currently sidelined, Pochettino will need to find solutions from within his squad to improve results.
