Following their thrilling 6-4 win against Western Sydney Wanderers in the opening pre-season match of their Australian tour, Chelsea players were back on the training ground early Wednesday morning. The squad, led by new manager Xabi Alonso, continued to condition themselves ahead of the upcoming season and their next fixture with Tottenham on Saturday at Accor Stadium.

Dario Essugo, who scored a goal in the match, expressed his satisfaction: 'I’m feeling good and it was nice to play again. It was a good match, an open match and it was enjoyable to be back out there. I’ve enjoyed playing under the new manager, he told me to stay in the middle and it was good to get forward and score a goal.'

After training, the team split into groups for various commercial visits around Sydney. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez met with the Sydney Swans AFL team at their home ground, while defenders Levi Colwill, Aaron Anselmino, and Tosin Adarabioyo visited Bondi Beach to check out the Icebergs outdoor pool.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s official pre-season tour partner TMGM hosted a Q&A and meet-and-greet event for four players: Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, Dario Essugo, and Liam Delap. The players interacted with guests, answered questions about their Sydney experiences and trading knowledge, and even participated in prize-winning activities.

The team also engaged in community outreach by hosting a Soccer School clinic where Mamadou Sarr and Jamie Gittens coached local children. Back at the hotel, Wesley Fofana and Josh Acheampong were among those participating in content activations with EA Sports. The squad concluded their day with dinner followed by some relaxation activities like table tennis and darts before gearing up for another busy day ahead.
