Chelsea FC arrived in Sydney on Saturday to begin their 2026/27 pre-season tour under Xabi Alonso, and supporters can watch the opening training session live this Sunday.
The Blues touched down in New South Wales late on Friday, enjoyed a full night’s rest, and will head straight to work at Allianz Stadium on Sunday evening. Alonso and his staff will run the first open training of the summer tour at around 6pm local time - that’s roughly 9am BST for UK viewers.
CFC+ subscribers can stream the first 15 minutes of the session directly in the Chelsea Official App or website. Make sure you’re logged in, your CFC+ subscription is active, and notifications are on so you don’t miss kick-off.
What’s happening in Sydney?
Training is the first real step of a six-match pre-season swing that takes in Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Malaysia. The Blues will face Western Sydney Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, AC Milan and Johor Darul Ta’zim before closing out the tour with a home clash against Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge.
Alonso’s side finished 10th in the Premier League last season with 52 points from 38 games and a recent run of LWDLL, so every minute of work counts as preparations build toward the new campaign.
How to watch Chelsea’s live training and pre-season fixtures
CFC+ is the club’s official streaming service for this summer. A year-long subscription costs £14.99 and gives access to all six pre-season games plus exclusive documentaries, original series, player and manager interviews, selected live training sessions, full-match replays and an expanding archive of classic Chelsea matches.
If a full year isn’t for you, individual match passes are £9.99 per fixture. A CFC+ subscription saves more than £30 compared with buying each game separately and is also available bundled with Junior Blue and True Blue+ Memberships.
Fans should update to the latest version of the Official Chelsea App to enjoy screencasting from phone to TV and the smoothest viewing experience on CFC+.
Why this matters for Chelsea FC
The opening training session in Sydney marks the first public glimpse of Alonso’s reshaped squad after a summer of transfers. With 58 goals scored and 52 conceded last season, Chelsea need every extra yard in pre-season to sharpen their attack and tighten the defence before the Premier League curtain-raiser.
The Blues sit 33 points adrift of Arsenal in last year’s final table, so every competitive minute in Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Malaysia will be vital.
Chelsea fans around the world can tune in to the first 15 minutes of open training on Sunday via CFC+, giving supporters a direct line to the new-look Blues as they chase a stronger return in 2026/27.
